SECTIONAL PERSPECTIVE 2D.png

2030 Community Hub at Yan Kit Road is an institutional building design challenged to transcend from its utilitarian space and rituals into assemblies for shared experiences of a community that can encapsulate the imaginative and unexpected spatial and experiential forms. My design concept is to create a community hub which aims to bonds the community through cultivating a lifelong learning process where a continuous learning journey takes place for each individual and eventually gathering the community in one place. The main idea is to make this a continuous learning journey is

through emphasis on the library space which will run throughout the entire building. The library acts as a bridge to connect the 3 main activities for each age group, the Day Activity Centre, Childcare Centre and the Communal Kitchen – in which would lead the different groups of people into the communal living room which is highlighted as the space that brings all individuals together. For each age group of people, suitable and related activities are placed correspondingly to encourage users to continue their learning journey, which also creates a better flow of spaces.
